Don’t miss the summer fun! June 15th, SMA Pickleball Club Deportiva

 Teams:

Co-ed teams of four (at least one woman) compete against Co-ed teams of four (at least one woman) in Matches that consist of four games.

You must register for a DUPR account  to play

A Match:

    • 1 and 2 of Team 1 play 1 and 2 of Team 2
    • 3 and 4 of Team 1 play 3 and 4 of Team 2
    • 1 and 4 of Team 1 play 2 and 3 of Team 2
    • 1 and 3 of Team 1 play 2 and 4 of Team 2

Each Match will consist of four concurrent games against the same team on two courts.  Rally scoring to 21, win by 1.

Regardless of outcome, all four games will be played in a match during round robin/group play.

For the games, each team captain must write down the team order on the score card, BEFORE any games in the match begin

If there is a tie after 4 games (2-2), a Dream-Breaker Round will be played.

Top 2 teams in each category will play for gold and silver, the bottom 2 teams in each category will play for bronze.

The DREAM-BREAKER Round:

This is a unique tiebreaker system that starts with each team selecting an order for their four players to play, writing it down and handing it to the other team BEFORE play begins.

The players then battle it out in singles pickleball in the agreed order, playing four points before rotating and letting the next player take over.  Rally scoring to 21.

Levels of Play:

  • DUPR 15 (The team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 15.30)
  • DUPR 13 (The team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 13.30)

**Maximum individual player DUPR cannot exceed 3.75 to play in DUPR 13

** If you don’t have a DUPR score yet, no problem – not related players can play – their ratings will be estimated.

You MUST Have a DUPR Account to Register

To sign up for any MLP event, a DUPR account is required at the time of registration in order to hold your spot.

Once a team registers for a MLP event, their ratings are “locked” and their DUPR increasing or decreasing will not impact the team’s aggregate or division placement.

Not rated players can play; however, their estimated rating will be verified by the tournament director.

How the Event Will Be Conducted

This pickleball event will feature a round-robin format, ensuring that all participants get ample playtime and the opportunity to compete against a variety of opponents. Each match will be played to 21 points, using rally scoring, with a win by 1 point rule in effect. The event will be divided into skill levels based on DUPR ratings, to ensure fair and competitive play. Participants may form their own team, or can register individually and will be matched into a team if possible. Each team will play every other team in their level to determine the top teams in each group.  The top 2 teams from each level will advance to the finals, culminating in a final match to crown the event team champion. Detailed schedules, rules, and match pairings will be provided before the event!
